Some people wonder... is acupuncture right for me? You may wonder if acupuncture is a service that would be a good fit for treating your personal health concerns. What most people don't know is that for anything you can take a pill for in Western medicine, you can use acupuncture instead or in conjunction with Western medical treatments!
Mia Vidmar MCM, L.Ac, Dipl.Ac. is a masters level licensed acupuncturist who specializes in the women’s health field, focusing on hormonal concerns such as endometriosis, PCOS, PMS, infertility, pregnancy and menopause, as well as other internal concerns regarding sleep, digestion, and anxiety. For fun, she also likes to work with skin care— hello, microneedling, Gua Sha Facials & cosmetic acupuncture! Mia likes to work with multiple Traditional Chinese Medicine modalities as seen fit for each person, such as acupuncture and cupping, as well as natural remedies, such as Chinese herbal therapy and 100% pure and natural doTERRA essential oils.
For more information about what is entailed in her sessions, please refer to the Services tab, or book a FREE 15 minute consultation to ask any and all questions you may have!
What is acupuncture? Acupuncture is a holistic treatment tool used under the umbrella of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine have been around for over 2,000 years. Licensed practitioners use sterile, one-time-use acupuncture needles the width of a human hair to stimulate acupuncture points located all over the body. Stimulating these points through acupuncture needles or acupressure can help bring more balance and harmony to the body. When we are in balance, we are pain free, stress free, and able to live our best lives.
Therapies other than acupuncture that fall under the Traditional Chinese Medicine umbrella are cupping, electrical stimulation, gua sha (also known as dermal friction), tui na (also known as Chinese Medical massage), herbal therapies, moxibustion, and more.
